Erythromycin estolate is dodecyl sulfate of erythromycin propionate, which is a white crystalline powder; tasteless or almost tasteless. The product is easily soluble in ethanol or chloroform, but almost insoluble in water. The melting point is 132 ~ 138 ℃. It is mainly used for pneumonia, septicemia and acute mastitis caused by sensitive bacteria.
