The chemical name of fenbufen is 3-(4-biphenylcarbonyl)propionic acid, white or almost white needle-like crystals. Melting point 185-187°C. It is soluble in glacial acetic acid, ethanol, chloroform, ether, slightly soluble in ketones, and almost insoluble in water and petroleum ether. Odorless and sour. The molecular formula is C16H14O3, the molecular weight is 254.28100, the density is 1.188g/cm, and the boiling point is 470.2ºC at 760mmHg.
It is used to treat rheumatoid arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, spondyloarthropathy and gouty arthritis. It can also be used for toothache, postoperative pain and traumatic pain.
