Recently, two batches of 1,4-butanediol (BDO) chemical raw materials with a value of 15.121 million yuan declared by Inner Mongolia Sanwei New Materials Co., Ltd. were successfully sent overseas after inspection by Wuhai Customs. This is also the first batch of BDO products declared from Wuhai Customs this year.
In recent years, with the continuous optimization of foreign trade structure, the "circle of friends" for foreign trade in Wuhai City has been expanding. Among them, BDO has become a shining business card in the overseas products of Wuhai City.

According to customs statistics, in 2024, the cumulative export value of BDO chemical materials in Wuhai City is 64.153 million yuan, and BDO products are sold well in 22 countries and regions including South Korea and Vietnam.
As an important basic organic and fine chemical raw material, BDO can be used to produce various products such as spandex, cosmetics, biodegradable materials, lithium battery solvents, etc. It is one of the fastest growing chemical products in the world. Meanwhile, its promotion and application are of great significance in solving the global problem of "white pollution".
Nowadays, in Wuhai, the large-scale production of BDO carries the transformation and development of the region. Wuhai City is confident in proposing to build the world's largest BDO integrated production base.
At present, Wuhai City has approved a BDO production capacity of 2.492 million tons and a biodegradable material production capacity of 2.16 million tons. Eight BDO integrated and downstream supporting projects, including Dongjing, Huaheng, and 3D, have been introduced, with a BDO production capacity of 1.6 million tons already built or under construction. Five downstream deep processing industry chains have been established, including BDO to spandex, engineering plastics, biodegradable materials, pharmaceuticals, lithium batteries, polyurethane resins, and fibers.
To assist BDO products in "going global", Wuhai Customs has implemented precise measures and launched a series of facilitation measures. Through the "Customs Director's Policy Door to Door" activity, Wuhai Customs visited relevant export enterprises to promote customs policies, business processing procedures, and other content, inquire about export difficulties and customs clearance bottlenecks, and solve problems on site.
At the same time, establish a list of key enterprises, assign dedicated personnel to conduct in-depth research on enterprises, provide one-on-one guidance on the entire export process, and gain detailed understanding of their production and operation status, product characteristics, and export intentions, in order to tailor personalized assistance plans for enterprises. These measures greatly improve the efficiency of customs clearance for enterprises, reduce operating costs, and provide strong support for enterprises to explore international markets.
