Methylene blue is mainly used as an antidote and is usually used to rescue toxic substances in the clinic.
1. It is an oxidant whose action has a specific correlation with its concentration. At low concentrations, methylene blue and white methylene blue can be transformed into each other repeatedly. The transformation process is also accompanied by a redox reaction, which can affect the response of methemoglobin to rescue poisoning. At high concentrations, methylene blue mainly plays the role of oxidation, which can oxidize normal hemoglobin into methemoglobin. Methemoglobin can combine with cyanide to rescue cyanide poisoning. Clinical methylene blue can be used to retrieve patients with nitrite poisoning, aniline poisoning, cyanide poisoning and other toxic substances. When using methylene blue, pay attention to the corresponding concentration.
2. also known as methylene blue, it is mainly used in patients with nitrite poisoning. Nitrite poisoning is also known as entheogenic cyanosis. Due to the nitrite ingested by the human body, the human body's methemoglobin is oxidized to methemoglobin, which loses the ability to combine with oxygen, resulting in severe symptoms of hypoxia. The patient shows a series of symptoms such as cyanosis of lips, cyanosis of limbs and hypoxia. At this time, he can be treated with methylene blue. Because methylene blue can reduce methemoglobin to methemoglobin, restore the ability to combine with oxygen and restore the oxygen supply of the human body, the primary function of methylene blue is to treat methemoglobinemia caused by various reasons, especially methemoglobinemia caused by nitrite. At the same time, the methylene blue ratio can be used to treat cyanide poisoning.
This is an oxidant often used to treat methemoglobinemia caused by chemical substances such as nitrite and nitrate or drugs (acetaminophen and phenacetin). Its toxicity can temporarily delay the occurrence of acute cyanide poisoning. However, it should be noted that this product is effective for ferrihemoglobinemia caused by chemicals such as nitrite, nitrate, aniline, nitrobenzene, trinitrotoluene, benzoquinone, phenylhydrazine and drugs containing or producing aromatic amines (acetanilide, acetaminophen, phenacetin, benzocaine, etc.). It has a poor effect on methemoglobinemia caused by congenital deficiency of reduced pyridine diphosphate nucleoside methemoglobin reductase. It is ineffective for abnormal hemoglobin m with methemoglobinemia. It can temporarily delay the toxicity of acute cyanide poisoning.
In addition to being used as an antidote clinically, methylene blue can also be used in other aspects:
1. Methylene blue can also be used for clinical analgesia, mainly in anorectal hemorrhoid surgery. Donkey hide gelatin can act on nerve fiber endings. After medication, it can be combined to produce a paralytic effect to relieve pain.
2. Treatment of urinary calculi: methylene blue can dissolve bladder stones so that it can be used for urinary calculi. It has a good effect on calcium oxalate stones. Avoid high calcium food during the treatment period, drink more water, and keep the urine diluted.
3. Treat obliterative vasculitis.
4. Treatment of neurodermatitis: This product has a strong affinity with nerve tissue. Local injection of the solution can act on the nerve endings and damage the peripheral nerve medulla. The new medulla will be repaired after about 30 days. In treating neurodermatitis, the compound solution of Methylene blue is injected locally in several spots. There is much pain after the injection. After about 4 hours, the pain gradually turns into numbness. At this time, the nerve medulla is damaged due to the stimulation of peripheral nerves. After about 30 days, the new medulla grows, and the feeling can return to normal. A few cases may recur, but the degree of skin lesions is much less than before.
