Cerium sulfate powder, yellow crystalline powder. The core component is cerium sulfate, but some people also call it cerium sulfate. It is heated and dehydrated to form anhydrous salt at 180 ~ 200 ℃. Decomposition above 350 ℃, thermal decomposition, pungent stimulation of smoke, formation of cerium oxysulfate, toxic. Soluble in cold water and hot acid, it decomposes into basic salt in hot water. Anhydrous cerium sulfate is used as a high-purity product in the electronic industry and in the manufacture of radiation meters. It is used as an oxidant in analytical chemistry and industry. It is also used to make the waterproof agent and mildew inhibitors. In terms of stability, it is sensitive to visible light and ultraviolet light; Especially in dilute solutions. Therefore, the solution should be kept in a blackened bottle The concentration of the stored solution should be 0.1-0.4n. At such a high concentration, if the solution is at rest, the organic impurities will undergo oxygen chemicalbookization, but if the content of organic impurities in reagent and water is sufficiently low, the solution can be stored for several months without significant deterioration. Because this dosimeter is sensitive to light, care should be taken to avoid excessive light before, during, and after irradiation.

Cerium sulfate is a commonly used strong oxidant. Chemical formula Ce (SO4) 2. Molecular weight 332.24. Dark yellow crystal. The relative density is 3.91. Decompose at 143 ℃. Its tetrahydrate is a yellow orthorhombic crystal with a relative density of 3.91. Dissolve in water to form basic salt. As a strong oxidant, it can oxidize Cr3 + to crchemicalbooko42 -, making cotton fiber light red. When concentrated with alkali metal sulfate in a sulfated solution, sulfate double salt can be obtained. Preparation method: heat cerium dioxide together with concentrated sulfuric acid, or electrolyze the sulfated solution of cerium sulfate. Usage: it can be used as a strong oxidant, tracer in the photography industry. Its sulfate double salt can be used as an important analytical reagent.

Synthetic cerium sulfate:

1. Dissolve 200g ceric ammonium nitrate [(NH4) 2ce (NO3) 6] in 1000ml of 70 ~ 80 ℃ hot water. After complete dissolution, filter, add 250ml concentrated ammonia to the filtrate for alkaline hydrolysis until cerium hydroxide is completely precipitated. Filter by suction and wash with hot water until it contains no NO3 - (test with indigo) to obtain cerium hydroxide.

2. 132ml49% sulfuric acid was added to the above-prepared cerium hydroxide under stirring, heated on the water bath, the reaction was complete, filtered, and the filtrate evaporated on the water bath to form a crystalline membrane. Cooling, suction filtration, crystallization, washing with cold water 3 ~ 4 times, and then drying in a glass dish at 25 ~ 30 ℃ to obtain reagent pure cerium sulfate.

3. A preparation method of electronic grade cerium sulfate:

3.1 add 1 part of cerium carbonate to 2 ~ 5 parts of dilute nitric acid solution and stir for 1 ~ 2H to obtain cerium nitrate solution;

3.2 add ammonium carbonate aqueous solution with a concentration of 1-5mol / L to the cerium nitrate solution obtained in step 1 until the pH of cerium nitrate solution is 4.0-4.5, and then heat the cerium nitrate solution to 90-95 ℃ for 90-150 minutes until the mass concentration of cerium nitrate solution is 220-240g / L;

3.3 filter the mixed liquid obtained in step 2 through a 1000 mesh sieve to obtain filtrate;

3.4 add the filtrate obtained in step 3 into the microporous filter to obtain the filtrate after filtration;

3.5 add hydrogen peroxide with a volume concentration of 30% to the filtrate obtained in step 4, and then drop ammonia solution into the filtrate until the pH of the filtrate is 6.0 ~ 7.0. Control the chemical Book reaction temperature at 30 ~ 35 ℃, stir for 2 ~ 10 minutes, and then raise the temperature at 90 ℃ ~ 95 ℃ for 30 minutes;

3.6 add an appropriate amount of pure water to the container containing the mixed liquid in step 5, wash it 1 ~ 5 times, and add all the washing liquid to the plate frame to pass through the sediment;

3.7 add cerium hydroxide filter cake into excess concentrated sulfuric acid to dissolve;

3.8 add concentrated sulfuric acid to the solution, concentrate and react for 5 hours, and then filter to obtain cerium sulfate crystal;

3.9 dehydrate the cerium sulfate crystal to obtain electronic grade cerium sulfate. This method has the advantages of short filtration time and high yield; High oxidation rate of products; High purity of the product; The product has high fineness and low nonrare earth metal impurities.

4. Cerium hydroxide was synthesized from ammonium cerium nitrate and ammonia, and then reacted with dilute sulfuric acid to synthesize cerium sulfate

4.1 preparation of cerium hydroxide: dissolve ammonium cerium nitrate in distilled water at a temperature of 75 ℃ ~ 85 ℃, stir continuously, add ammonia to the filtrate for alkaline hydrolysis until cerium hydroxide is completely dissolved, drain it, wash it with hot distilled water at 80 ℃ ~ 90 ℃, wash it for 5 ~ 6 times until it does not contain No3, and then drain it to obtain cerium hydroxide solution;

4.2 synthesize high-grade pure cerium sulfate. Add 125ml of analytical pure dilute sulfuric acid to step 1 above under stirring to obtain cerium hydroxide solution, heat it on the water solution at 85 ℃ ~ 95 ℃, filter it, evaporate the filtrate on the water solution to form a crystalline film, cool it for 4 ~ 6 hours, crystallize, wash it with distilled water for 5 ~ 6 times, then dry it in a porcelain dish at 25 ℃ ~ 30 ℃, and take it out to obtain high-grade pure cerium sulfate. The preparation method has the advantages of high purity, low impurity content, simple process steps, and high production efficiency.
