Manufacture Information

There are two main methods for preparing adipic acid dihydrazide, namely one-step and two-step.

 

One step: adipic acid and hydrazine hydrate are directly reacted to produce ADH.

Adipic acid and hydrazine hydrate are refluxed under heating conditions for a period of time, then cooled and crystallized, and solid ADH is obtained after filtration, washing, drying and recrystallization. This method is simple and easy to operate, but the yield is low, not more than 65%.

 

Two step method: refers to esterification reaction and hydrazidation reaction:

 

The first step is esterification to synthesize dimethyl / ethyl adipate.

 

In the second step hydrazidation reaction, the ester and hydrazine hydrate react to generate ADH. In the first step esterification reaction, concentrated sulfuric acid is mostly used as catalyst, which has the problems of strong corrosiveness, large amount of organic wastewater with high salt content, great environmental damage, and many side reaction impurities.

Environmental friendly catalysts, such as solid acids, heteropoly acids and metal compounds, have received more and more attention, but they generally have disadvantages such as high cost and cumbersome synthesis process, which are more suitable for laboratory scale research and development. There are still many problems to be solved in practical production and application. In addition, the above two methods are based on the expensive hydrazine hydrate as raw material, and the production cost is high.

An optimized method for preparing adipic acid dihydrazide comprises the following steps:

Put the hexanediamide and butanone nitrogen into the reaction kettle, start the stirring, after the hexanediamide is dissolved in butanone nitrogen, heat the solution, add water slowly to the solution, introduce the distilled gas into the rectification tower for rectification, recover butanone and recover ammonia, and the water vapor is cooled to flow back to the reaction kettle to continue to participate in the reaction; After the addition of water drops, the heat preservation reaction is continued, during which the content of hexanediamide in the reaction liquid is sampled and analyzed. After the reaction of hexanediamide is completed, the butanone nitrogen and water in the reaction kettle are all evaporated, and then the solid matter in the reaction kettle is recrystallized, washed and dried with water to obtain the finished product of adipic acid dihydrazide.
